Donations & Fundraising

The team here at 1st Great Wyrley Scouts want to make our Scout group one of the best that there is, to do this we have many projects that need funding, and although we do our own fundraisers, we still need the help of others to achieve our goals. 

Please help us to provide new equipment and upgrade our HQ.

Its not just money that you can donate...

You may be able to donate to our projects in other ways:

  • Your Time
  • Your Skills
  • You may be a tradesperson that can provide services.
  • Items and Equipment that would be needed.
  • Other benefits, perhaps the company you work for offers help to charities or would be willing to?

We use PayPal Giving to manage our online donations.

When you donate to us their will be an option to cover our costs so that we maximise your donation amount.

Our Current Campaigns

Tents

Camp Events

Our tents are a bit leaky and we desperately need to replace them, so that we can keep on doing camps both at the centre and away.

We soak tested our current tents and have only 3 Scout tents that are weatherproof, We cant even repair or reproof the old ones as on closer inspection it was found that the tape seams had perished. 

We are now in a position where we will only be able to cater for a maximum of 12 Scouts on a camp.

To enable us to cater for all of our group we need new tents of a good enough quality that they will last, and to also provide tents for leaders (currently we only have 2 leader tents that are suitable.)

For every £250 raised we can buy 1 tent.

Disability Access

We would like to improve our disability access to our building

your donations will go towards:

Quick Fixes

  1. Accessibility ramps for rear of building including to the camp fire and activity area
  2. Replacing the door in-between the 2 halls, with a wider frame and  door

Long Term Goals

  1. New long gradient ramped entrance outside to front door 
  2. New accessible front door
  3. Redesign of toilet area/block to enable both better access for wheelchair users, and a larger space with the correct equipment

Donations Terms & Conditions

Specific Causes

We will ensure that the the fund for any donations given are used for the purpose given and records will be kept separately for each cause.

  • In the event that we raise more than is required by the cause, we will transfer the extra to another of our causes

  • In the event that not enough money being raised for a cause we either use the funds in a manner similar or towards the goal of the cause or if this is not applicable then transfer the money to another of our causes

  • If the cause is staged we will use the funds a soon as the staged amount needed is achieved.

Complaints

Complaints will be investigated thoroughly and fairly to find out the facts of the case, avoiding unnecessary delay; and we will respond to complaints fairly and in a way that is in proportion to the complaint.

If you donate via PayPal Giving then we will only receive your name and no other details from them.

We will not share your data in any way or form with any other organisations.
